Lisa Koo, Co-Founder and Clinical Director
Lisa Koo is the Co-Founder and Clinical Director for Bergen Pediatric Therapy Center. Lisa has extensive experience in utilizing Sensory Integration (SI) and Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) techniques to promote function and independence in children with poor sensory regulation, global developmental delays, and neurological disorders.
Lisa loves and has worked with the pediatric population throughout her career and is experienced in applying Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques or the Developmental Individual-difference Relationship-based model (DIR) throughout the child’s sessions. Lisa enjoys working closely with parents and other therapists in developing home programs and to strive to maximize each child’s potential.
Lisa Koo is a licensed TomatisĀ® Consultant (Level 4 provider). Lisa Koo is also a SolistenĀ® Practitioner, an Integrated Listening Systems (iLs) Professional and a Therapeutic Listening provider. Ms. Koo received Aquatic Therapy training in 2009 and 2012. Lisa is certified Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). Lisa is also certified in Handwriting without Tears.
Lisa Koo began her career in business and received a B.S. degree in Marketing and International Business at New York University. She then graduated with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from New York University. She worked in the pediatric department of the Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Medical Center where Lisa worked with children with various congenital disorders, developmental disorders, and traumatic injuries. After Lisa had her first child, she transitioned to the Early Intervention Program in New Jersey and worked primarily with children with various syndromes, global developmental delays, cerebral palsy (CP), ASD and Pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified (PDD/NOS). She also worked with multiple disabled children at the School of Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey.
Lisa is the mother of three children.
